The Age of Pandemics: Why Is the World Descending into Infectious Disease Outbreaks?

Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has not been free of infectious diseases outbreaks. From Nipah virus, Dengue virus, to the recent bird flu that is being transmitted from man to man, it is obvious we are facing an existential threat from these viral infections. Why is the world descending into a chaos and chorus of infectious viral diseases that were hitherto only found in animals or only transmitted from animals to man? What does the future portend?
